Biomethane is good for the climate, the environment, and the economy. The important thing is that it is “done right,” that is, by working together with all the players involved, according to a precise model of sustainability, transparency, and innovation.
When done right, without passing on social or environmental costs to the community, it becomes a great opportunity for the circular economy and for combating the climate crisis in our country. There are many advantages to producing biomethane from organic waste, from all points of view: from closing the organic waste cycle to increasing renewables and therefore energy independence, from decarbonizing the transport sector to using digestate as a natural fertilizer in agriculture.
This will also be discussed at the 12th edition of EcoForum, the national conference on the circular economy organized by Legambiente, Nuova Ecologia, and Kyoto Club, in collaboration with Conai and CONOU and with the patronage of MASE and the Lazio Region.
To explore these issues in greater depth and share our experience of what it means to do biomethane well in terms of technology and the construction of efficient, safe, and well-managed plants, our President, P.P. Cella, will also speak at the round table on July 1, in the session dedicated to The organic waste chain for producing biomethane and compost.
