Our CEO, G. Francesco Galanzino was invited to speak at the National Conference “Circular Economy in Practice: Municipal Waste – Future Resources for TAOs “ held on July 10 at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest.
It was a key event for the future of the circular economy in Romania, bringing together experts and leaders in the field along with representatives of the government and parliament to discuss together the most innovative solutions in urban waste management.
Infrastructure development, the search for alternatives to energy recovery for non-recyclable waste, the use of Solid Secondary Fuel, and the increase of composting plants among the key issues that were addressed during the conference, to which our CEO brought Entsorga’s nearly 30 years of experience in renewable energy and fuels. Romania, in fact, has almost non-existent separate waste collection and recycles only 15 percent, still making excessive use of landfill, which is why it has been paying for years millions of euros in penalties set by the European Commission.
Hence the huge investment plan already approved for the development of composting, Renewable Fuels and Biogas plants.
Romanian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Environment, Water and Forests, Deputy Minister of Energy in attendance.
The event is organized by INFOMEDIU EUROPA magazine in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests (MMAP), with the Federation of Intercommunity Development Associations (FADI) as co-organizers, the Romanian Compost Association and the Ecoattitude Association.
