Groundbreaking of Waste-to-Solid Fuel Plant Held in Martinsburg, West Virginia

On January 6th, 2016 Entsorga West Virginia announced in Martinsburg the groundbreaking of the U.S.’s first resource recovery facility utilizing Mechanical Biological Treatment (MTB).

The plant will use Entsorga proprietary technology that enables the production of alternative fuel and replaceable coal starting from MSW and is expected to be operational in early 2017.

The plant will be the first in the U.S. to feature this type of Italian technology and also because its proximity to Washington makes it a strategic element for the development of the Italian Group’s activities in the U.S..

“This is a significant milestone for the United States and we are truly thrilled to be providing our proven technology to convert waste into an EPA recognized alternative fuel source,” stated Pietro Cella Mazzariol, CEO & Director, Entsorga.
